(Instructional Technology) 


The online Master of Education with a Major in Media (Instructional Technology Track) degree is designed to prepare progressive, innovative, academically grounded instructional technology leaders; Enable teachers and school library media specialists to successfully integrate technology into their learning environments; Build and enhance skills in research and program evaluation to support instructional growth and improvement; Pioneer innovative delivery options to maximize educational experiences; Cultivate diversity of ideas, values, and persons responsive to changing needs and technologies; and promote the advancement of learning through scholarship and service.

The Instructional Technology track program consists of 36 semester hours of approved coursework beyond the bachelor's degree. Twenty-seven semester hours are drawn from media and instructional technology courses, and 9 hours are taken in psychology, curriculum, and research. Students must have a bachelor's degree to be admitted to the program. Those entering with T-4 Georgia certification exit with T-5 certification but no new certification area or endorsement is added.
Accreditation:
University of West Georgia is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).  The College of Education at the University of West Georgia is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
